Haley's 1st Snow Day

Haley just got her very first snow day! Right here in Tampa Bay, she got a snow day from swim! Okay, okay, that is not real snow in her hair, it is foam snow from the Santa booth in the mall. It was the closest thing I had of her in the snow. It is not snowing right now, nor has it, but it is COLD for us! I won't tell you how cold it is here because all of you up North would just laugh and call us wimps. We even had to turn the heat on and people have covered up their plants. We are wearing house shoes and sweats and the dog is wearing a coat!!!!

Haley has been trying to convince me not to make her go to swim today because it has been so cold. I told her they would probably just work out of the water today but I could tell that plan wasn't selling. She wanted no swim. We finally got a call saying that the coach has cancelled for today. She was relieved and excited. I looked at her and said,"You just got your first snow day! How does it feel?" She replied with a big whoop after I spent a minute explaining about getting out of school when it snowed and how excited we would be.
I've got to take her to see some snow next year, it just isn't fair she has no snow to play in! When we were at the Santa booth, Haley and her friends were playing in the little bit of foam snow falling. There was just a small amount of this snow on the floor and they were making snow angels! Florida snow, seems to be lacking a bit! But a Florida snow day from swim is still the bomb!

Is that dog a beagle? So cute! Snow in Tampa Bay, huh? I bet those were some happy kids!

Thanks for sharing in the ETJ Bible study!

Thomas is a doberman or rottweiler mixed with hound. We are not really sure. We adopted him from the humane society a couple of years ago. He was Haley's birthday present on her 6th birthday. He is a crazy but good dog (most of the time) and he lets Haley dress him up all the time.

Hey Carm,

As for snow days, you can't even count on them in Tennessee anymore. It was in the mid 60s today. We went out for recess this morning without coats - in January!

Stay warm :)
