This hole is in my back field and belongs to yet another member of our wee family. This one doesn't like to be too close to the rest of us. Sort of a loner, you could say. Always the quest for solitude. I wonder what gopher turtles think about.....
Gopher turtles have always lived on this land as long as we have been sharing it with them. We found one baby turtle and have watched her grow up. Her name is Lucy. She has moved all around the house and finally out into the field. We have come to enjoy sitings of Lucy and her friends.
Popsaroo is always on the lookout to save the gopher turtle crossing the road. You see, he is a softie. Shhh, don't tell anyone.
